水痘ワクチンは老人帯状疱疹合併症を減らす
VZVの細胞性免疫の減少と老人の帯状疱疹に頻度は相関。多施設・ランダム化・前向き研究で部分的にそれが確認された。1998年11月から2001年11月まで38546名の60才以上のimmunocopletent subjectに1回VZVワクチンを投与。プラセボと比較。平均観察期間3.1年で、1000人年で5.4 vs 11.1と減少。帯状疱疹後疼痛0.45 vs 1.38エピソード/1000人年。副作用はワクチン後42日で、ほとんどがminorであり、58% vs 34%。帯状疱疹発症957名のうちPCRテストで894例が野生株でワクチン株由来は無かった。[[NEJMVolume 352:2271-2284 June 2, 2005 Number 22:http://content.nejm.org/cgi/content/abstract/352/22/2271]]
